Pre-Purchase Inspection

Ship-owners always have to choose between building a new vessel or buying an existing ship. The latter may be decided on if the ship owner needs an asset that will be available for immediate deployment. Before deciding to proceed with the purchase of an existing ship, an extensive and thorough inspection of the vessel’s structures, machineries, equipment, watertight integrity and operational condition is of the utmost importance.

At MMS, our pre-purchase inspection gives a clear, ‘as-is’ assessment of the concerned asset, an evaluation of her true value thus enabling the prospective buyer(s) to decide whether or not to proceed with the purchase. Where specific repairs are necessary or under-performance exists, price adjustments with the sellers will be necessary.
